Measure 1.2. Accessibility improvement

The overall objective of the project is to pursue socio-economic development of cross-border areas through improvement of transport accessibility. In the macro scale the project will contribute to achieve several specific objectives: the cooperation of partners in cross-border regions in solving joint transport problems, the improvement of transport conditions and road safety, promoting interpersonal contacts and cross-border cooperation.

Main estimated results of the project are as follows:

  • One road project aimed at improving the access to the area covered by the Programme was implemented. 
  • The number of organized conferences / seminars during the project realization is 4. 
  • The number and length of connections (transport corridors) covered by the actions undertaken in order to improve transport links and means of transport cooperation is 22.4 kilometers. 
  • Communities using the modernized transport infrastructure including inhabitants of Kętrzyn Mrągowo (Poland) and the city of Bagrationovsk (Russian Federation) enveloped 122 000 persons. 
  • One project aimed at reinforcing of cross-border cooperation was implemented. 
  • 200 persons attended conferences and seminars during the project realization.
