About the Programme
In the 2014-2020 EU financial perspective, the Lithuania-Poland-Russia Programme was split into two: the Poland-Russia CBC Programme and the Lithuania-Russia CBC Programme.
The Poland-Russia Cross-border Cooperation Programme 2014-2020 is developed to continue successful cooperation between the partners from both sides of the European Union-Russia border supporting social, environmental, economic and institutional spheres. The joint work on the border areas was started by the predecessors of the Programme: the INTERREG IIIA/Neighbourhood Programme for Lithuania, Poland and Kaliningrad Region (2004-2006), and later the Lithuania-Poland-Russia ENPI CBC Programme 2007-2013.
The successful implementation of the Poland-Russia CBC Programme 2014-2020 will lay the foundations for building and developing cross-border cooperation and good neighbourly relations in the cross-border region. In the long-term, its activities are expected to foster integration of the eligible area – the border area of Poland and Russia (three Polish voivodeships: Pomorskie, Warminsko-Mazurskie and Podlaskie, and the Kaliningrad region).
The budget for the Poland-Russia CBC Programme 2014-2020 is planned to amount to 61,9 mln EUR (41,3 mln EUR from the funds of the European Union and 20,6 mln EUR from the Russian Federation). Grants will be allocated to projects aimed at promotion of local culture and historical heritage, environmental protection, improvement of transport and communication, and promotion of border management and security.
The Programme is currently in the process of approval by the European Commission. After a formal decision, the Programme will start to be operational officially.
The Lithuania-Russia CBC Programme is at the same stage of preparation – the Programme document was submitted to the European Commission. More information about this Programme can be found here: http://www.eni-cbc.eu/lr/en
