Lithuania-Poland-Russia ENPI Cross-border Cooperation Programme 2007-2013 BW


On the 29th of June – 11th of July 11, 2013, total 35 artists, art critics, historians, curators, writers and journalists from Lithuania, Poland and Russia will go together on the exploratory trip: Gdansk – Kaliningrad – Klaipėda. The expedition is implemented within the framework of the project ”Close Stranger: promoting mutual understanding between population of Gdansk, Kaliningrad and Klaipėda through facilitation of exchange in the field of contemporary arts and culture” in years 2013-2014. The project is implemented by the Baltic Branch of the National Centre for Contemporary Arts (Kaliningrad, Russia) together with Klaipeda Culture Communication Centre (Lithuania) and the Centre for Contemporary Art “Łaznia” (Gdansk, Poland).

During the expedition its participants will gather material applying culture animation method and contemporary art practices, which will serve as a basis for the art and culture guide of the region “Art-Guide: Gdańsk – Kaliningrad – Klaipėda” to be published in 2014. The guide will cover new cultural routes illustrated by both existing objects of cultural interest chosen at the project participants’ discretion and art objects created within the framework of the project, as well as comments of journalists and interviews with local people.
