A NEW PROGRAMME CBC POLAND-RUSSIA 2014-2020 WAS APPROVED BY THE EUROPEAN COMMISSION!
On 8th December 2016 - the day of the ceremonial start of the Programme Poland-Russia 2014-2020 at a conference in the Polish Baltic Philharmonic in Gdansk, the European Commission approved a Joint Operational Programme Poland-Russia 2014-2020. The programme, implemented in the framework of the European Neighbourhood Instrument, supports cross-border cooperation between Polish and Russian border areas in the social, environmental, economic and institutional spheres.
The Poland-Russia Programme focuses on four thematic objectives:
• promotion of local culture and preservation of historical heritage (HERITAGE)
• environmental protection and climate change mitigation (ENVIRONMENT)
• improving access to the regions (ACCESSIBILITY)
• support for border management and security at the border (BORDER).
The budget of the Programme is 62.3 million euro, including 41.65 million euro coming from the European Union and contribution of the Russian Federation in amount of 20.65 million euro.
Depending on the results of the Programme, the European Commission may provide additional funds in the amount of approx. 20 million euro.
The Joint Technical Secretariat, located in Olsztyn, will be operational from the beginning of 2017. At the same time it will be created a branch Office of the JTS in Kaliningrad.
The call for proposals is planned to be launched in the first half of 2017. Detailed information will be systematically published on the Programme website: www.plru.eu.
